As you grow in this world,
Young boy or girl,
This is your oyster or pearl,
The ride is rough

You'll have days and nights
Love and spite,
Wrong and rights,
The ride is rough,

They'll be truth and lies
Darkened skies,
Light for the blind,
The ride is rough

Times of despair,
Hateful glares,
Those to be aware,
The ride is rough

They'll be moments of joy,
Wins and Loss,
Nothing without a cost,
The ride is rough,

You'll have to give your all,
Answer the call,
Fear not, to fall,
The ride is rough

Stay warm when it's cold,
Stay cool when it's hot,
Like it or not,
The ride is rough

Difficulties will mound,
Like wax on a candle,
But it's nothing you can't handle,
The ride is rough
